Diana Hanson-Founder of College Mentors and Counselor with Magellan College Counseling

Diana Hanson is an independent college consultant who is committed to helping students and their families prepare for college and discover the college or university that best meets their needs. Since beginning her practice in 2005, Diana has worked with students from all walks of life and from all kinds of educational backgrounds, assisting them in every aspect of the college process and helping them discover their interests and move confidently toward their future.

With a background in writing and editing, as well as teaching writing skills, Diana is an expert essay adviser and editor with BA, MA, and CPhil degrees in English from UCLA.  Diana also completed, with distinction, a certificate program in College Counseling  at UCLA.

In addition to working one-one-one with students, Diana also conducts free workshops through the Santa Monica Public Library and low cost small group sessions at her offices in Santa Monica. 

Diana is an active member of WACAC (Western Association of College Admission Counseling), NACAC (National Association of College Admission Counseling), HECA (Higher Education Consultants Association), and is an associate member of IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association; she adheres to their high standards of professional ethics.
